Our cosy three-star hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful locations of Amsterdam: on the river Amstel, next to the famous Carré theatre, on walking distance from the Rembrandtplein, the Waterlooplein and many other highlights.
It was named after the beautiful drawbridge across the street: the Magere Brug. As one of the last privately-owned hotels in the city, we offer the atmosphere of a small family hotel. The Bridge Hotel offers the ‘best of both worlds’. Everything this big city has to offer is within reach, but romance and tranquility can also be found here.
We will gladly welcome you!

Where better to spend Easter Weekend than the Bridge Hotel in Amsterdam? Easter happens to coincide with the best time to admire Dutch flowers in their full glory! From late March until early May, the crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths and tulips are blooming, so Easter is the perfect moment to visit the Keukenhof. You don’t have to leave the city in order to surround yourself with flowers. For instance, you could visit the Hortus Botanicus, the Amsterdam Tulip Museum or the floating flower market.
On King’s day (previously Queen’s Day), the birthday of our king is massively celebrated, and Amsterdam turns orange. All kinds of fun festivities for all ages are organized in the streets, along the canals and in parks. Live music, city square festivals and garage sales make this the largest street festival of the year.
On 4 May, Amsterdam, along with the rest of the country, commemorates all civilians and soldiers that have died in combat and on peace missions since the outbreak of the Second World War. On Commemoration Day, the inhabitants of the city observe two minutes of silence at 20:00. At the monument on the Dam, wreaths are laid down, among others by the king and queen, veterans and surviving families.
Every year, the Liberation Festival is organized, featuring an extensive music program. Live music can be heard from Dutch bands, international artists and DJs on various locations in the city. Liberation Day is traditionally closed with a concert on a floating stage on the river Amstel, right in front of the Royal Theatre Carré and the Bridge Hotel! Artists in both popular and classical music play on this stage. The concert is also attended by king Willem-Alexander, queen Maxima and princess Beatrix, as well as many other guests.
Augustus starts in style with Gay Pride. The streets, canals and clubs go pink and Amsterdam celebrates. It’s also the perfect month for open-air cinemas and large events like the Uitmarkt.
One of the highlights of the yearly Canal Festival is the Prince Canal Concert, a spectacular classical concert, floating on the water. Hundreds of small boats gather for the famous musicians who play to the stars on the floating podium on the Prince Canal.
Christmas markets, Christmas concerts, ice-skating in the heart of the city, and a nice cup of hot chocolate afterwards. Amsterdam is a convivial city to celebrate Christmas. Enjoy the beautiful lights everywhere, as well as the special events taking place during the dark days.
On New Year’s Eve, the new year is grandly welcomed with fireworks, champagne and deep-fried doughnuts on the squares near the hotel: the Nieuwmarkt, Leidseplein and the Rembrandt Square. But in other locations in the city, there are also various parties, both indoors and outdoors.
